How to witness to the cultural Christian

Intro: largest group consist of some 70% of Americans

• Why have they left the church?
• May have become inoculated.
• May have been hurt.
• They are convinced they are fine. Deut. 8:10-14
• For whatever reason: Christians are largely responsible for this malaise!
• We are becoming like Haiti!   people say “/this is karma” believe everything.

I. Be Friendly people everywhere are susceptible to being loved and cared about.

A. Take time to listen and find out about them.
         “Carry one another’s burdens” Gal. 6:

B. Share their interests and hobbies.

C. Be ready to offer advice when asked.
          “You have helped his people” Hebrews 6:10

D. Don’t be pedantic! 
“Serve one another humbly and in love” Gal 5:13

II.         Be There Be aware of the situations facing people around you.

A. Many have been hurt, others felt we didn’t care.

B. Love conquers a multitude of sins I Peter 4:8.

C. Be available in their times of anxiety, hurt, and grief!

III.        Be Persistent. Don’t give up, it may take twenty years!

A. Be an example always!
          Matt 5:16 “let your light shine that they may see your good deeds.”

B. Develop a deep friendship and caring attitude.
Phil 2:3-4 “do nothing out of selfish ambition”.

C. Always be ready to inject Christ and His help in life.

D. Study to show thyself approved! II Tim 2:15

Conclusion:

A. We must try to reach them “by all means reach some” I Cor 9:22

B. They could be the key to real growth!
